Avalanche Valfréjus: sixth legionnaire died – TF1

The results of the deadly avalanche of Valfréjus (Savoy) gets heavier. A Hungarian legionnaire of 23 years of the 2nd Foreign Regiment engineering Saint-Christol (REG) died Monday of his injuries, did we learned from the Army of Earth.

Five other soldiers from the 2nd REG (an Albanian, a French, an Italian, a Moldovan and a Nepalese) were killed in the snow slide on January 18 while conducting a course of ‘hardening in the mountains.
Young Legionnaire, “perfectly integrated into his company” showed “real capabilities in the areas of security and the fight of the mountain”, the statement of the Army.
Engaged in the Foreign Legion since December 2014, he joined the 2nd REG Saint-Christol in May 2015 before obtaining his patent mountaineer military in the month of September. “Persevering and highly motivated,” he had gained “the confidence of leaders and brothers in arms.”
Albertville Prosecutors opened an investigation in search of the causes of death and injury on this drama.
